HOW IT STARTED
In 2015 God began dealing with Pastor Tyler about his family planting a life giving church. This dream was both energizing and terrifying as Tyler and Kayla did not have a location, team, or resources to make this dream a reality. While they didn’t act immediately. They kept faithfully serving in ministry for the next seven years.
Until God opened the door in May of 2020 for The Harris family to start out on the journey of seeing their dream become a reality. Through the generosity of individuals and with the help church planting organizations like CMN and ARC as well as the church Tyler and Kayla were serving as youth pastors (New Life Church.) The plan to launch Awaken Church was publicly announced in February of 2021.
THE LAUNCH
Over the next eleven months The Harris family and their team began to serve the Bartow County region as they recruited individuals to be a part of the movement that is Awaken Church. In January 2022 Awaken Church launched with nearly three hundred people in attendance on day one. We now meet every week with a clear and defined mantra for existence. We are a place where real people with real problems create a house determined to host the presence of God.
